MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – Head Coach Paul Swanson and the Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's volleyball program are pleased to announce the signing of Grace Phillips for the upcoming 2017 season.
"We are excited to add Grace Phillips to our team," said head coach Paul Swanson. "We love the fact that she is a high quality person in many areas. Excellent student, committed Christian young woman, great personality, and skilled volleyball player."
Phillips, an Orrville, Ohio native, prepped at Orrville High School where she was a member of two conference champion teams, three district champion teams, and three regional finalist teams, in addition to being a scholar-athlete.
As a senior, Phillips competed in 28 matches, notching 185 digs and 39 aces with a 93.6% serving percentage.
"Grace will primarily be a back row player for us," said Swanson. "We look forward to the many ways Grace will positively impact our team and university."
Phillips, who plans to major in Accounting with a Spanish minor, is excited about joining the MVNU community, saying, "From the first time I stepped on Mount Vernon's campus, I felt at home. I look forward to being able to continue my academic and volleyball careers at MVNU, where I will also be challenged and supported in my faith."
