PERU, Ind. – Senior Sean Thomas (pictured at right) of Mount Vernon Nazarene men's golf earned the lowest score of the Huntington Invitational, taking home individual honors with rounds of a 73 and a 74.
The Cougars also finished second out of eight teams, just one stroke behind the winner Indiana Wesleyan in a tournament that came down to the final few holes.
Despite coming up just one stroke short of the victory in the invitational, it was a quality performance for the MVNU men in just their second outing of the fall season.
Junior Sam Romine (pictured at left) was right behind the winner Thomas, finishing in a tie for second place overall with rounds of a 73 and a 76.
MVNU men's golf will next take the course on Monday, Sept. 18 at the SAU Fall Classic, which will be held at Eagle Eye Golf Club in Bath, Mich. Tee time for that event will be 8:30 a.m.
