AVON, Ohio – Once again, junior setter Katelyn Dufur of Mount Vernon Nazarene University volleyball was named the Crossroads League Setter of the Week, as a standout performer in four Cougar matches.
MVNU went 2-2 on the week, with wins coming over Kenyon College, 3-0, and Capital University, 3-1.
In every match, Dufur was a model of consistency, racking up more than 30 assists and averaging 9.9 assists per set. The high-level of play has earned Dufur the award for the fourth time in the last five weeks.
Dufur has not only been contributing as a setter, but also in the back row and with the attack. On three occasions the Mount Vernon High School product flirted with a triple-double, tallying impressive kill and dig numbers.
Although a tightly contested five-set match was lost to Goshen on Friday, Sept. 29, Dufur was a clear bright spot, accumulating 49 assists, 12 digs, and six kills.
Dufur and MVNU (15-10, 3-6 CL) will travel to receiving votes Indiana Wesleyan tomorrow, Oct. 3, to face the Wildcats in a match set to begin at 7 p.m.
