Coach Ronai and MVNU Men’s Basketball Announce 2025 Recruiting Class

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. — Head Coach Jared Ronai and the Mount Vernon Nazarene University Men's Basketball program are excited to announce the addition of five incoming freshmen to the 2025-26 roster. These newcomers will join nine returning players as the Cougars prepare for another competitive season in the Crossroads League.

Coach Ronai shared his thoughts on the newest members of the program: "Each of these five young men is a perfect fit for our basketball culture at MVNU. They're high-character individuals who genuinely care, and that shows in everything they do. Our fans at Ariel Arena are going to enjoy watching them grow. They bring size, length, toughness, and skill—and we believe they'll make an impact from day one. We've already seen significant growth during our camp season, and we can't wait to have them on campus full time this fall."

Abib Abib

Hometown: Mason, Ohio

High School: Mason High School/Athletes in Action Prep

Height/Position: 6'7" Combo Forward

Coach Ronai Thoughts: "We're thrilld to welcome Abib to our basketball family. He's a terrific fit for MVNU and brings a combination of size, skill, and athleticism that aligns well with our style of play. Although he's relatively new to the game, we believe his potential for growth is tremendous. Abib is a great addition to our basketball culture, and we're excited to see his development once he's on campus."

Isaac Burns

Hometown: Troy, Ohio

High School: Troy High School

Height/Position: 6'6" Wing

2024-25 Stats/Accolades: 12.0 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 1.7 bpg, Division II Honorable Mention All-Ohio, First Team Miami Valley League, Second Team Southwest Ohio All-Area

Coach Ronai Thoughts: "Isaac played for MVNU alum Mark Hess at Troy High School, and we're excited to welcome him to our program. He brings great athleticism and length, which will allow him to impact the game in a variety of ways. Isaac is just beginning to tap into his potential, and we're looking forward to watching his skill set continue to develop."

Kieran Granville Britten

Hometown: Cincinnati, Ohio

High School: Cincinnati Princeton High School

Height/Position: 6'9" Forward

2024-25 Stats/Accolades: 11.0 ppg, 8.5 rpg, DI Special Mention All-Ohio, First Team Southwest Ohio All-Area, Greater Miami Conference Champions

Coach Ronai Thoughts: "Kieran played for MVNU alum Bryan Wyant at Princeton, and we're excited to bring him into our program. He's big, strong, and will add valuable size to our frontcourt. We believe his best basketball is still ahead of him, and we're excited to watch him grow both on and off the court here at MVNU."

Reed Platfoot

Hometown: Jackson Center, Ohio

High School: Jackson Center High School

Height/Position: 6'7" Combo Forward

2024-25 Stats/Accolades: 15.3 ppg, 8rpg, First Team All-Conference, DIV Honorable Mention All-Ohio

Bryce Snell

Hometown: Cincinnati, Ohio

High School: Cincinnati Country Day High School

Height/Position: 6'0" Point Guard

2024-25 Stats/Accolades: 23.8 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 5.6 apg, First Team All-Ohio, SW District Player of the Year.

Coach Ronai Thoughts: "Bryce is a great fit for MVNU and our team culture. From day one, he'll bring speed and toughness to the court. His background as a high school football player shows in the way he competes—it's a real asset. We're excited to watch him develop alongside some experienced players in our backcourt."
