MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. — The (RV) Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's lacrosse team (8-3) closed out the week with another home game at CH4 taking the Siena Heights University Saints (5-1) from the WHAC conference on Saturday, March 22.
Siena Heights struck first early in the game, but Mount Vernon Nazarene quickly responded with a goal from Angelo Elia, assisted by Kaden Tinner, to tie the game at 1-1.
In the second quarter, Colton McKee put MVNU ahead with an unassisted goal, but Siena Heights equalized minutes later. Gabe Wolf then gave MVNU a 3-2 advantage with an unassisted goal.
However, Siena Heights answered with three consecutive goals to take a 5-3 lead. Wolf struck again for MVNU to narrow the gap to 5-4, but Siena Heights extended their lead to 6-4 before the quarter ended going into halftime.
The third quarter saw Siena Heights continue their offensive push, adding two more goals to extend their lead to 8-4.
In the fourth quarter, Siena Heights struck first to make it 9-4 before MVNU's Tyler Dickerson, assisted by Wolf, cut the deficit to 9-5. Siena Heights responded again, but MVNU made a late push with goals from Ryan LaAsmar, Ethan Haney (twice), and Dillon Hittle, closing the gap to 10-9. Despite the late surge, MVNU fell just short in the contest.
Goalie Vaughan Hawkins started and tallied nine saves in the game. Zechariah Gee won 8 of 14 faceoffs, while McKee went 6 for 8, combining for a 14-of-22 performance at the faceoff X.

Men's Lacrosse is gearing up for another home matchup at CH4, taking on WHAC opponent University of Michigan–Dearborn on Wednesday, March 26. Face-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
