Salgado Named Crossroads League Defensive Player of the Week
JACKSON, Mich. – After being a crucial component in the Mount Vernon Nazarene University men’s soccer team’s 5-0 win at Brescia, Chucho Salgado has been named as the Crossroads League Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career on Monday, September 22.

Salgado led MVNU with two goals in the match, upping his total to three during the 2025 season so far. The junior defender from Pueblo, Mexico also anchored MVNU's backline, helping the team hold Brescia to just one shot on goal in the shutout win.
Salgado and MVNU are back in action on Wednesday, September 24 as it begins Crossroads League play against Goshen College. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m.
