Men’s Volleyball Picks Up Sweep Over Defiance

DEFIANCE, Ohio. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's volleyball team (10-12, 7-9 WHAC) played a conference match at Defiance College (6-18, 3-13 WHAC) on Wednesday, April 8.

MVNU started strong, taking the first set 25-17. The Cougars put on an offensive display in the set, finishing with 16 kills and a hitting percentage of .444. MVNU remained hot in set two, winning once again by a score of 25-17. While Defiance put up more of a battle in set three, MVNU proved to be too strong. The Cougars claimed the set 25-23 to secure the road sweep.

Tommy Tierney led MVNU with 12 kills and 11 digs. Chrisitan Kyer had 10 kills and hit an impressive .526 in the match. Kyer also added four blocks. Jaxson Snell had a team-high 16 assists to go with four digs. Austin Kolaczkowski added 14 assists for MVNU.

 

What's Next

MVNU returns to action on Friday, April 10 at Ariel Arena for a WHAC match against Lawrence Tech. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
