Crossroads League Announces All-League Honors for Softball
JACKSON, Mich. — The Mount Vernon Nazarene University softball team had three student athletes honored by the Crossroads League on Monday, May 4 for their play during the 2026 season.
Dakota Staffan made the All-Crossroads League First Team after a strong season as a pitcher and designated player. Staffan was third in the conference in batting average (.436), fifth in RBI (49), and second in home runs with 13. In the circle, the junior from Johnstown, Ohio had a 10-8 record to go with a 4.38 ERA.
Skylar Zimmerman was named to the All-Crossroads League Second Team at second base and outfield. Zimmerman was fourth in the league with a .430 batting average and fourth with 50 RBI. The sophomore from South Webster, Ohio led the team with 71 hits and added five home runs.
Kiera Mayer earned honorable mention honors for the Lady Cougars at first base. Mayer, who holds the programs all-time home run record with 33 in her career at MVNU, was fifth in the Crossroads with nine during the season. The senior from Gahanna, Ohio hit .313 and drove in 39 runs.
