Men’s Lacrosse Blows Out Ottawa 27-2

FULTON, Mo. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's lacrosse team (8-2) finished its road trip with a match against Ottawa University (0-5) at the North Campus Athletic Complex on Thursday, March 12.

MVNU made easy work of Ottawa, scoring eight goals in the first quarter, four goals in the second, 10 in the third, and five in the fourth quarter on its way to a 27-2 victory.

Ethan Haney scored eight goals in the match and currently leads the NAIA with 52 on the season. Connor Kistner scored four goals, and Dylan Haynes scored four goals as well to go with his three assists. Haynes is up to 34 goals in the season, which ranks him third in the NAIA, and his 23 assists has him tied for second in the country with his teammate Chase Lawler, who had five assists in the win over Ottawa. Lawler also had two goals and four ground balls.

Vaughan Hawkins had six saves in goal for MVNU, while AJ Schwanenberger had three saves for the Cougars.

 

What's Next

MVNU will host Thomas More on senior day on Wednesday, March 18 at CH4 Stadium. Game time is set for 5:00 p.m.
