Men’s Volleyball Loses in Three to Lourdes
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio. — The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's volleyball team (1-8, 0-4 WHAC) wrapped up its homestand in Ariel Arena on Saturday, February 15, with a WHAC conference matchup against the Lourdes University Gray Wolves (3-4, 1-1 WHAC).
The Cougars faced a tough challenge against the Gray Wolves, losing in three sets. The first set ended with MVNU falling 16-25. In the second set, the Cougars fought hard but were once again outpaced, falling 17-25. Despite a strong effort in the third set, the Cougars were ultimately overtaken by the Gray Wolves, losing 15-25.
Ethan Cline had an impressive performance, leading the Cougars with 8 kills, along with 5 digs and 2 assists. On the defensive side, Tyler Monnin stood out with 8 digs, also contributing 1 kill to the effort. Meanwhile, Tyler Shields orchestrated the offense with 15 assists, adding 1 kill to his total, proving himself as a playmaker for the team.

Men's volleyball is set to hit the road for non-conference action, facing the University of Rio Grande Red Storm on Tuesday, February 18, at 7:00 p.m. in Rio Grande, Ohio.
